You do not need a cohort for this one. Somebody sends you their race — a crew share, a Vakaros file, whatever they have — and you put it on the map next to yours. Ad hoc, one race at a time, nobody following anybody.
Play it back and axiotrax calls the advantage in boat lengths: who was ahead, by how much, and the moment it changed. That is usually a tack, and it is usually one nobody remembered afterwards.

Most “AI features” are a chat window bolted onto an app. SmartCoach is the other way around — the coaching architecture came first, and it does four things no other sailing app does.
SmartCoach reconstructs the wind for your whole race — then asks one question before it critiques any decision: could you have known, at that moment? A correct call that got rolled by an unknowable shift gets credit, not blame.
Mid-conversation, the coach queries your actual GPS record — your tacks, your legs, your start — and answers with your numbers, not generic advice. You'll see it work: “Analyzing your tacks…”
Every coaching answer is checked against your real data — on your phone — before you see it. If the AI's claim doesn't match your GPS record, you see the correction, not the mistake.
Every tack gets a verdict against the reconstructed wind: KNOCKED — the breeze headed you, tacking was the right call. LIFTED — you were on the favored board and gave it away. Settle the argument before you reach the dock.

Already have masthead wind instruments? Add a small NMEA 2000 Wi-Fi bridge like the Actisense W2K-2, and axiotrax reads your boat's true wind speed, direction, and angle straight off the network. Nothing to calibrate — it's already dialed in.
No instruments? Mount a Calypso Ultrasonic wind sensor at the masthead. It's solar-powered with no moving parts to break, and it streams wind to axiotrax over Bluetooth — which fuses it with your GPS to ground every reading in true wind. Nothing to wire, nothing to power.
Either way, the signal lands in the same place: live on your map, saved with every session, and in front of SmartCoach for every debrief.
